ABOUT DR. CHEN

HAMILTON CHEN, MD, QME

Hamilton Chen, M.D., QME is a board-certified physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Chen is certified by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners for performing independent medical examinations and is certified as a Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME) for the state of California.

Dr. Chen earned his medical degree from the State University of New York at Brooklyn. He completed a medical internship at Harbor/UCLA Medical Center. Thereafter, he completed his residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of California, Irvine, where he was named Chief Resident. Dr. Chen also completed an ACGME-accredited Pain Medicine fellowship at University of California, Irvine.

Currently, Dr. Chen is an Assistant Professor at Western University of Heath Sciences and has taught trainees at all levels. He continues to be active in the education of medical students and trainees. He is also dedicated to clinical research and the advancement of the field of Pain Medicine. He has presented at multiple national conferences, including Association of Academic Physiatrists, American Academy of Pain Medicine, American Pain Society, and American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Additionally, his works have been accepted for publication in various journals, such as Pain Medicine, Pain Practice, International Journal of Rehabilitation Research, and Ultrasound. Notably Dr. Chen was a co-author of The Pain Center Manual, a widely used pocket reference for the practice of pain medicine.

Dr. Chen currently practices full time at University Pain Consultants, a full-service pain management clinic serving the Inland Empire in Southern California.
